Percents
The word "percent" means hundredths. That is: per
one hundred or . One hundred percent means one whole object. Any
value less than 100% is less than one whole object. For example,
50% is less than one whole object. In fact, it is 1/2 of the
object. 2% means 2 parts of the whole. Don't forget; the % sign
means .
To change percents to fractions: |
1. Drop the percent sign. 2. Multiply
the number by
3. Reduce if necessary.

Example:
To change fractions to percents: |
1. Divide the numerator by the denominator.
2. Move the decimal point 2 places to the right.
3. Add the percent sign.

To change percents to decimals: |
1. Drop the percent sign. 2. Move the decimal point
2 places to the left.
(Sometimes adding zeroes will be necessary.)
